# Staff applications

> Configure hire channels and staff application cycles from the Quarky dashboard.

# Staff applications

Use **Staff applications** in the Quarky dashboard to wire Discord channels and manage application **cycles**. Member-facing apply flows stay in Discord (`/staff application`); cycle admin (create, activate/deactivate, update positions) is dashboard-only.

## Setup

1. Open your server in the dashboard → **Staff applications** → **Setup**.
2. Choose **Apply for staff channel** — where the public apply message with position buttons is posted.
3. Choose **Application responses channel** — where Quarky opens a thread per cycle for staff to review submissions.
4. Save. Both channels must be different normal text channels, and the bot needs permission to send messages and manage threads in them.

## Cycles

On **Staff applications** → **Cycles**:

* **Create cycle** — pick 1–5 open positions. Quarky posts the apply message, creates a responses thread, and connects Google Form webhooks. You cannot create a new cycle while another is active.
* **Toggle last cycle** — activate (repost apply message, enable forms) or deactivate (remove apply message, disable forms).
* **Update active cycle** — change which positions appear on the live apply message.

Cycles are listed with ID, status, and timestamps. Use `/staff cycle list`, `details`, and `members` in Discord for read-only ops during review.

## Related

* **Mod → Staff rules** configures QMod staff permissions — not staff hiring applications.
* Position catalog and Google Form templates are managed by Quarky operators, not per-guild dashboard settings.
